What is Cabinet Refacing?
When refacing your kitchen cabinets, the original doors and drawer fronts are removed and replaced with new ones. Meanwhile, the cabinet boxes left in place are repaired as needed, and refaced with veneer to match the new doors and drawer fronts.
How Much Does Cabinet Refacing Cost?
It depends on the number of cabinets you have, the layout and size of your kitchen, and the design selections you make. For instance, there are different door styles to choose from with some more ornate than others. There are also several finishing techniques to consider, such as solid tone, staining, or glazing. Each choice you make will impact the final overall cost. However, the average cost to reface cabinets is generally around half the cost of a complete remodel.
How Long Does Cabinet Refacing Take?
It depends on the specific factors of your project, particularly the size of your kitchen and any modifications or additions are being made. Larger kitchens or a kitchen where the boxes require more repair work might take extra time when compared to a smaller space in good condition.
However, the average timeline for a typical kitchen refacing project is around five days.

What is the difference between standard overlay and full overlay?
Standard overlay cabinets (also called traditional overlay) have more exposed face frame, with at least 1 ¼ inches showing on the sides of the doors and drawers.
Full overlay cabinets give cabinets a more custom look by showing less of the face frame between the doors and drawers, typically between 3/8 to 1/2 inch.
Is new hardware included in the cost?
